It is estimated that the worldwide consumption rate of natural gas is around 3400 km³ of gas per year. This extraction and consumption represents a major and growing driver of climate change. If a portion of this pipeline gas can be reformed to hydrogen using BurnStar’s technology, the overall carbon footprint of natural gas consumption can be drastically reduced. Up to 20% of the methane in natural gas can be replaced with hydrogen without affecting existing power generation or consumer gas applications.
